Self-powered equipment requires no source of energy, relying solely on the power of the voice and allowing it to communicate over many kilometres. The calling signal between handsets are made by a magneto call.

This equipment is used in the civil and military field, their design characteristics allowing them to be used in the most extreme of conditions. They are especially resilient in explosive environments (ATEX).

How it Works

Self-powered headsets function using the sole energy of the voice, allowing communication over many kilometres.

A self powered connecting link consists of attaching a cable with two conductors- such as a telephone cable- one as a self powered transducer functioning as a microphone and the other as the speaker. Their roles being interchangeable you can create a two way landline.
